About Treatment
-
Fascial Counterstrain is a gentle, hands-on therapy approach developed in the USA. It involves identifying sensitive points in the body that may reflect areas of protective tension. Through precise positioning, the technique works with the body’s reflexes to support relaxation and mobility.
-
No. Fascial Counterstrain is very gentle. Many patients describe it as relaxing, and some feel lighter or more at ease during or after their session. (Individual experiences vary.)
-
This varies. Some people describe changes early in their care, while others may require a series of visits depending on their presentation and goals. After your initial assessment, we’ll discuss a plan together that’s realistic and tailored to you.
-
Initial consultation: 60 minutes (includes assessment and first treatment).
Follow-up sessions: 30 or 60 minutes, depending on your needs.
Each session also includes time for payment and administration.
-
The number and frequency of sessions varies from person to person. In many cases, people start with weekly appointments, then sessions may be spaced out to once every two weeks, and later to monthly reviews as things stabilise. The exact plan depends on your presentation, your goals, and how your body responds. We’ll discuss this together after your initial assessment so it feels realistic and comfortable for you.

Common questions about Billing, Medicare, and Private Health Rebates
-
Our standard consultation fees are:
30-minute consultation: $120
60-minute consultation: $220
Fees are the same for initial and follow-up visits, unless otherwise advised.
-
We accept patients with a Medicare Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan (sometimes called EPC). Medicare provides a rebate of $58.30 per session for up to five physiotherapy visits per calendar year with a valid GP referral.
We do not bulk bill these sessions. Instead, you pay our standard consultation fee, and Medicare rebates $58.30 directly into your nominated bank account (usually within 1–2 business days). Your out-of-pocket cost is the difference between our consultation fee and the Medicare rebate.
-
Yes. If you have physiotherapy cover with your private health insurance, you can claim a rebate on the spot through our HICAPS terminal. The rebate amount will depend on your level of cover and provider.
-
No. Medicare does not allow private health insurance to be claimed for the same session that is being claimed under Medicare (such as EPC/CDM). You may use one or the other for a given visit, not both.
-
Yes. We have HICAPS available so you can claim your private health rebate immediately, and simply pay the remaining gap on the day.
-
We kindly ask for at least 4 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. This allows us to offer the time to another patient who may be waiting.
Cancellations with less than 4 hours’ notice, or missed appointments, may incur a cancellation fee.
This fee cannot be claimed through Medicare or private health.
